A Slight Change of Plans

Hi,

I decided that the goal of getting Chewwy through Auroria so that all my characters would be done with it was a bit pointless. With all the other characters, getting to 30 is important for Tier 3 Housing Plots. But with Chewwy not having any gathering tradeskill and no Plots, there really is no point. He can craft all the Armor and Weapons no matter what level he is.

So, the new plan is to level Slinger and Teccy. Get them both to 30, and then get them both to 40, and 50.

So, that's what I concentrated on this week, stopping playing Chewwy when he/she hit level 18. Slinger finished off Whitevale and even went out of her way doing Scientist missions there too. She hit Farside Bio Dome 3 to get to 30, and then I concentrated on Teccy.

She's part way into Whitevale right now, and because I'm so used to Spellslingers now, having a relatively easy time of it. She's also getting quite a few Relic nodes, so that's good too. She only made level 24, so still a bit of a way to go to 30, so that I can get the Tier 3 Relic Plot for her.

Cassy has been continuing to do the Crimson Badlands and Northern Wastes dailies. She's not quite Beloved with Crimson Badlands yet, and a fair way from Beloved Northern Wastes, but she'll get there eventually. Other than all this. I'm making tons of gold. Cassy is making tons after getting Elder Gem capped doing the dailies. I'm making Refined Diamond Power Cores with Teccy and sending them to Chewwy. Chewwy makes a Fine Platinum weapon that vendors for 1g30s by spending 20s on Medium Flux. Teccy is also making money by vendoring Octopod Serum and low level ones from plants she grows in the Garden. Octopod Serum vendors for over 19s, so one craft comes to more than 95s. Slinger is just vendoring the wood from the trees, and is now getting Augmented Hardwood, as she's upgraded to the Tier 3 Thicket.

With all this gold, I bought another CREDD for 6p.

Hobbled!

Hi,

That's right. I was sick for quite a bit of the week. It hit hard Monday night with chills and fever etc. and knocked me out for Tues, Weds and Thurs. I didn't play at all during that time, and only felt like playing again on Friday. So, not much progress at all this week.

On Fri, Sat, and Sun, Cassy got the Crimson Badlands and Northern Wastes dailies done. She hasn't hit the Elder Gems cap yet, but should tonight. Up to nearly 18p again though, so still making some good money. Quite of bit of it this week was vendoring Augmented Hardwood.

I did continue with my plan of getting everyone through Auroria. I got Esper to 22, and just started playing Chewwy again, the last to not have made it through.

In my shortened week, I just worked on Crafting a bit too. I did quite a bit with Teccy, getting into the Artisan Tech Tree, and got Technology to Tier 5. This is excellent, because now I can make tons of money with all the Tier 5 herbs that Cassy has been getting doing the dailies. Also, Teccy can now make Diamond Power Cores, which will allow all the other crafts to get through Tier 3.

Another money making scheme I have right now is crafting Sapphire Power Cores, getting Titanium from the Housing Plot, and sending those to Chewwy. With 6 Titanium, and a Refined Sapphire Power Core, you only need to buy a low Viscosity Flux to make a Fine Titanium Roomsweeper, that vendors for over 70s.

A Little Bit of Everything

Yep, did a lot of stuff this week, all over the place.

First, Cassy continued to do the Crimson Badlands and Northern Wastes dailies. She made tons of gold after Elder Gem cap, and bought another CREDD for 5p75g. CREDD is hovering between 5p50g and 6p on Thunderfoot currently. I thought it might go down a bit after July 3rd, but it held steady. I'm now paid up through October 1st, and still have about 14p to play with. Cassy also actually visted Blighthaven for the first time. Here's the proof:

Blighthaven is pretty fun, and it's fun getting some regular quests again other than the dailies.

Cassy didn't do anything much to the house this week, but the front of it is just getting more cluttered :)

The other characters that got play time are Teccy and Slinger, other than just farming the housing plots.

I decided that Slinger should be my next 50, so I spent quite a bit of time on her, and got her well into Whitevale and up to level 26. I'm leveling Teccy also, and decided to get her through Auroria. I got her to level 21 and she should make 22 tonight. I kind of like the idea of getting all the characters done with Auroria, so I may level Esper and Chewwy next.

Every time I log on, I go farm the plots on my 5 plot characters, before doing anything else. Here's what they have currently.

Cassy - Survivalist Tier 3 plot, Garden Tier 3 plot
Esper - Festival Tier 2 plot, Mining Tier 2 plot
Meccy - Survivalist Tier 2 plot
Teccy - Relic Tier 2 plot, Garden Tier 2 plot
Slinger - Survivalist Tier 2 plot

When Slinger and Teccy get to 30, I can upgrade to Tier 3 plots for them. It was smart of Carbine to tie plot levels to real levels, or everyone would just get to level 14 and then farm farm farm.

I've also done a lot with Crafting this week. Teccy got to Journeyman Technology and I farmed some herbs for her on Cassy too. Meccy and Slinger are almost done with the Tier 2 Tech Trees, and are using the Sapphire Cores from Teccy. Chewwy is crafting stuff with the Refined cores from Teccy and making lots of gold.

My Technical Issues

Hi,

Well, let me tell you about how I play the game. I play on a Mac. I use bootcamp to boot in Windows 7. Wildstar runs OK mostly, but when I'm in a heavy memory hoggy zone, I crash a lot with out of Memory, or bad memory references. I've verified that this is because I'm on a Mac, because I downloaded on my Windows laptop, and have no similar issues. What I do, is every time I need to go to Illium, or Grimvault, I quit, log into my laptop, do what I have to, and then go back to my Mac. Not perfect, and I really wish they'd have a native Mac port.

On to my play this week. I needed Ancient Wood for Esper for Architecture. I was shocked when the Tier 2 Thicket didn't give any, so I decided to level Meccy some more, to get to the Tier 3 tree zones. Well, it was really frustrating. I don't know if I can play an Engineer very well. I kept dying in Whitevale. Especially in the cave with the Hazmat suits. Arrgggh. So, I had a brilliant idea. Why not just replace Relic Hunting on Cassy with Survivalist instead? Indeed, that's what I did. Zoomed through the first couple of Tiers, and found lots of Tier 3 trees in Southern Whitvale, and Farside. And then ground out to get to Tier 5.

The Strain dropped this week, and I immediately started doing the Northern Wastes dailies along with the Crimson Badlands ones. I get Elder Gem capped in 3 days! Now, after getting EG capped, you get 2g38s each time you would have got an EG. So really, every quest is 3g or more. That's about 70g from the two daily areas, not to mention any drops (got a purple rarity dye and sold it for 1p), so I'm now sitting at just over 12p.

BTW: I have not even got around to doing Blighthaven yet :)

The outside

There's a large Falkrin Gate at the entrance, and a Pell banner over on the left with some type of Exile ship.

I bought a couple of Cassian Walls (on the right) and moved the bed behind them. I also learned how to use advanced controls, so I'm now hovering the Eye.

The rest

Pretty much the same as before, with the bad gone, but there is a Hooded Stove that Esper made at the back there. I eventually hope to have walls separating most of the space, and maybe a second floor.

So, what else. Well, after I found out that I couldn't play Engineers, and because I realized that maybe my Tailor could make some great gear at endgame, I decided to focus on Slinger. I got her to 20, and will be planning on her as my next 50 now.

I'm also leveling Teccy a lot, and really loving Technologist right now. I wanted to make Power Cores for my troops, but she's selling the Refined Quartz ones for 30-40s, so my other characters are just buying the cheap ones from the vendors to level their cratfs instead. It really looks like Power Cores will be a nice little earner for Teccy, so I plan on leveling her too.
